Gas canister delivery in San Juan del Sur

Cooking gas here comes in a canister you exchange, not through a pipe in the wall. It always runs out mid-meal, usually in the evening, and it is heavy enough that fetching a new one is a genuine chore.

Delivery from C$184 in town and C$276 to the outer beaches. Every fee is agreed before we set off.

What you can ask for

These are things we buy for you. Where a price is shown it is what we last paid for it locally, and we reconfirm it before buying — shelf prices here move. Tap anything below and we will send you the current figure. Nothing is purchased until you have agreed the total.

  • Gas canister exchange

You hand over the empty, we bring back a full one. The usual arrangement.

  • First canister with deposit

For a new house with nothing to exchange. Costs more the first time only.

  • Spare canister

The thing everybody buys after the first time it runs out mid-meal.

  • Water bottles and refills

Usually ordered on the same trip, since both are heavy and both run out.

How the exchange works

  • The normal arrangement is exchange: you hand over your empty canister and get a full one back, paying only for the gas.
  • If you have no canister yet — a new house, a first rental — the first one costs more because you are paying a deposit on the cylinder itself.
  • Tell us which you need when you message. It is the difference between two quite different prices and it is much easier sorted out before the driver arrives.
  • Have the empty ready and accessible. The exchange takes a minute if it is by the door and considerably longer if it is behind a locked gate.

Why people have it brought

  • A full canister is heavy and awkward, and much of San Juan del Sur is uphill from anywhere selling gas.
  • It never runs out at a convenient time, and a kitchen with no gas is not a problem that waits until morning.
  • If you keep a spare, running out stops being an emergency and becomes a note to reorder. That is the single best piece of advice on this page.

Where we bring it

  • Anywhere in town and on the hillside at the C$184 town rate, with no minimum order.
  • The outer beaches — Maderas, Marsella, Remanso — at C$276 with a C$250 minimum.
  • Combine it with a water or grocery order and it is one trip and one delivery fee rather than two.
